PICASSO AND DALI IN ST PETE'S
We met Nancy and her cousin Bonnie at the Dali Museum in St. Petersburgh.
Picasso was a special exhibit there.
The museum has a particular bubble of glass that overlooks the Gulf. Very attractive view.
We had a guide for part of the viewing who talked about particular paintings.
I was surprised to hear how much of a lover of the bullfight Picasso was.
He was often in Paris or Barcelona when Barcelona still had bull fights. He was also at Ceret.

where he could go to the bullfight and enjoy the music in the streets. Ceret is known for music.

He was good friends with Luis Miguel Dominguin. Here is that matador with Picasso and Jean Cocteau.

In 1971 at the age of 44 he returned to the bullring. That year he retired again, but returned to the ring in 1971, aged 45, when he attempted to fathom the sport's continuing allure. His comeback was at Las Palmas, the Canary Islands, when he wore the costume known as the "suit of lights," which had been designed for him by Picasso. He killed two bulls and won one ear, but was overshadowed by younger men -
We saw Dominguin's cape and a bull's head in a display room of Picasso and bull fighting paintings. We also saw etchings, one with a female matador. I liked the colored paintings better. Here is death of a toreador.
I also saw this painting. These look a lot like porgy.

We overlooked the water to some extent. The restaurant is on a pier. It was a cold and windy day, so there were almost no boats, but one sail boat did brave it. By the time we left much of the wind had settled.
Going back over the bridge, for example, we had seen the roughest white water possible. coming back it had all calmed to normal.
