HARD DAY

Yesterday, Wed, was a tough day with extreme gas pains, very little result from the exlax .   I could not go swimming, but I did go to the market.  However, that was grueling.
In the evening we watched some of E's television:  Bull and Doc Martin.
I slept well.

The Mandala

  First we went to Unity Church where a mandala was being created by some Tibetan Monks.  It is very beautiful.  It takes them over a month.  Oddly, when they are done, they blow all the sand painting away. We then went to Thai Phoon for lunch.  I had duck and Elizabeth had eggplant.  Good stuff.  Not as good as our place in East Greenbush, but still very tasty.  Next time we will ask for more spice in the curry sauce.  We had summer rolls as well.

ST PETERSBURG JANICE AND JERRY JAMES MUSEUM

 We met up with Jerry and Jan Bent at the Raymond Museum in St. Petersburg this week.  It was a good visit.  We ate at Ceviche, the Spanish tapas place I love.  Nice meal outside.  We ate a fine potatas bravas, lamb chops, and other tastes. We enjoyed the Raymond Museum for out second visit.  Large wooden sculptures are easy to see with my one eye.  Great Indian art.  Just a treat to go there. I tired easily, but what else is new?

LAZY DAY

I had a really tough night, waking at three thirty and awake until about six thirty, napping another hour, and then up. I had a grand breakfast of oysters.  (See oysters in butter on the recipe blog.)  For lunch I had a nice sheepshead fillet in butter and spices in the microwave, and for supper the rest of the salmon.  A fish day for sure. Mike K came over while Elizabeth went to Paul's for dancing.  We had a grand chat.  Most of it was inside, but then it warmed up a bit.  It is supposed to be warm tomorrow. Mike listened to my old teaching stories. We heard the saga of the tough time he had after the polio.  Operation after operation.  In casts for months at a time. I napped again. Then Elizabeth and I decided not to go to the arts festival. We watched four Heartland episodes.  Usually we just do three.  It is hard to quit.  At the same time a good bit gets resolved in each episode.  Rarely do they leave us hanging.  I ...
