sT pETERSBURG

Easy enough drive down.  Not hectic and I did not get tired. We went to Peter and Donna's and visited, had lunch, sat by the lake to watch white pelicans, ring necked ducks, coronmant, heron, one gull, and some other smaller ducks.  Very cool, especially the white pelicans who put on a show herding fish and then going for a gulp.  I loved it.  Eliz and Donna walked around the lake.

Back to check in, unpack, get a nap, and then off to Bonefish for some fine treats.

Great crab cakes

Parmesean encrusted trout

Great bread

I made Elizabeth stop at the Ice Cream place and bought some.  It was just okay and too expensive.  I ate half and saved half for tomorrow.  I had Belgian chocolate, but Sterwart's Death by Chocolate is better.

The house is clean and spacious and has an adequate kitchen.  The rest is boringly minimalist.  No art.  Only one mirror in the bathroom.  Very thin mattresses, the 4inch variety.  Dull looking stuff.  It will do, but they sure get a lot of money for very little.

We sat by the lake near Donna and Peter's and watched white pelican herd fish with an occasional gulp.  Also, there were coronmonts, one gull, one pelican, ring neck ducks and other water birds.  A great place.

We visited the Raymond James museum of the West and saw lots of Indians, cowboys, wildlife and great art.

We ate at Bonefish and the meal was tasty.

The second day we went to the Gulf Port beach.  Easy parking and uncrowded.  I went swimming.

On our way home we went to Ceviche's and had really grand Spanish tapas including potatas bravas.  This we did with another couple from up North.
